In The Vazir Sultan College of Engineering, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering started in the year 1995 with an intake of 40. The intake is gradually increased to 90 with two sections by the year 2000. The Department started Bachelor Program in Information Technology(IT) with an intake of 30 in the year 1999. The Departments CSE & IT are functioning as an individual departments. The Department looks ahead to attract, develop and strengthen the highest quality faculty, student body and staff in a supportive teaching, learning, and working environment.
The department has state of the art dual core processor Computer systems "HP". The department has also state of the art software namely Oracle 10g, Multimedia , UNIX , Novel Netware , Visual Studio , etc.
The department is actively engaged in Research in the areas of Cryptography and Network Security, High-speed networks, Neural Network Applications, etc . The department also helps the students in honing their skills in showing better creativity and also being innovative. Further, it imparts additional knowledge in some of the emerging areas of computer science and engineering and is very much successful in the rapidly changing and ever expanding areas of computer science. The department engages the classes & Labs by using LCD Projector. The department has been taking active role in conducting short-term and long-term courses and mini projects for the benefit of its students and faculty. The Department bagged University Ranks right from the inception.
